Wardrobe update!
Whats that, I hear you ask? I actually managed to provide photographic proof of my hotted up nerd wardrobe? What are these shirts that have me so excited?
The Chaser ones! Firstly, theres this one:
Its a mockery of the Kevin 07 campaign. Whilst ordering the above, I found this one:
I found one landlords birthday present! Both have a heck of a story behind them, that also ties back into the social and political themes of 2007. Who said every shirt didn’t have a story.
I shant buy anything else until at least after the convention. I have to do boring budget revision before I can think of another purchase.
I’m going to get a grey belt to do with my ‘Greatest American Hero’ shirt. I want to try and find some of the ones the alien wore but the Red short sleeve is hard enough to find as is.
Creating a hot nerd wardrobe is hard work!
I’m trying to create a wardrobe that incorporates classic looks, current trends and provides a nerdish reference. Often I’ll approach a shopping trip with a theme in mind.
Yesterday, I finally found a pair of Red Short shorts. Now, this is for a funny holiday experience I’m planning on doing – more updates on THAT later! 
I’m having trouble tracking down other items I want. I’m hunting for a pair of blue shorts, superman blue, with white stars. I can’t find blue tights anywhere either, nor can I find the superhero boots that are sexy, but don’t have that clunky heel.
I have vague supergirl and wonder woman themes in mind (not complete reproductions, just imitating some aspects) yet nothing else. Do people create cosplay outfits without the need to show it off at a con? I’d be more than interested in doing something like that and uploading all the pics! I can’t think of anything interesting for a girl to Cosplay outside of comics and anime. Perhaps I should rewatch all my sci fi DVDs.
Do you have any recommendations for how you thing a fenerd should look? Everythings ultimately going to be put on my mystyle diary, and form themed pages. Let me know your ideas, as well as sites where you can get them from.

But I did, after much hunting, find some geek tops. They had a small section in K-mart, in the guys section. There were two styles, Transformers and superman.
They only had ‘Large’ for transformers. Which means if your skinny, its essentially a dress. I’m going to use my red ‘cinch’ belt with it and wear it with some bright coloured pants to offset the darkness. The superman is kinda dodgy. My landlord has a much nicer one which got my into T-shirt collection in the first place.
I also got a female simpsons one. Now this is more flattering. Guy nerds don’t get this, but chicks prefer different cuts. I like the neckline to be lower, and shorter sleeves. :sighes: In the small sizes they don’t make adjustments to fit in all the extra surface area us females have. It makes me look frumpy!

Every shirt has a story, and the three i got today are only a small part of that story.

My two best mates (one being a landlord) are now getting the Chaser 07 ones! LOL might just hitch a ride next time someone goes to minotaur. I can’t wait for this con!
The T files
Up until recently, I was ashamed of my appearance because I couldn’t define any particular style. Well, style defined, at least in terms of the ‘Tee’
I want my T shirt collection shall reflect my life and my loves. Thus it will include my hard core interests, shows (musicals/comedy) that changed my life and places that I’ve visited and loved. The ones I currently have are:
- Airlie beach one
- Marvel tee
- Pink Panther tee
I have decided rather than collect ad filled programs from my many theatrical expeditions, I will get T-Shirts from the one I really enjoyed. I really want a Ross Noble on, from the Fizzy Logic show I went to. Fortunately, Ross does visit Geelong quite often so I could pick up a shirt from his next tour. ;_; I still want the ‘Fizzy’ one.
I want these two from musicals:
- Prima donna (phantom of the opera $40)
- Miss Saigon shirt ($40)
I’d also LOVE one from my two favourite podcasts, The Shebang or Get This.
I struggled for ages to decide on a decent Dr Who one. I wanted them to reflect my personality and came up with these gem. I am going to pay, to get a custom Tee printed, with the phrase ‘The Angels have the phone box’ on it. Lol, like what they guy said in the episode?
I also want some anime ones. I have this silly in joke, I’m thinking of collection ones with varous anime cats on them such as Kyo, and the FLCL one. I’m looking at importing from animenation, which appears cheaper than buying from Minotaur or tamarket.com.au
I’d love anyones tips on building up an awesome T shirt collection. I want them to be girly, flattering cuts and colours though thus lies the problem. And once any shirt is obtained, I’ll add it to mystyle diary along with other clothes.
